NOV Fiber Glass Systems (Formerly Ameron) is a world leader in fiberglass pipe production for shipbuilding and marine engineering. NOV FGS Bondstrand® fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) pipes have become the most widely used FRP products worldwide and in China's shipbuilding and marine engineering fields as well due to their long lifespan, corrosion resistance, light weight, easy installation, low maintenance, and complete specifications. There are three main series of Bondstrand® fiberglass reinforced plastic pipes used in marine and ship engineering: 2000M/7000M/2400. In addition, there is the PSX series that can meet JET FIRE fire protection requirements without the need for an additional fire protection layer.
2000M/7000M series
This is NOV FGS's globally renowned fiberglass pipe series. Its design pressure is 16 bar, meeting the 4-fold safety factor requirement of ASTM D 1599, and can withstand an external pressure of 3.3 bar (triple safety factor). The 7000M series adds conductive function on the basis of the 2000M series, mainly used in oil and gas to avoid static electricity accumulation and ensure system safety.
2400 series
Widely used in the field of marine engineering, it is used in numerous sub series of different pressure levels, with a design pressure of up to 50 bar, and is also a conductor. The last two digits in its sub series represent the design pressure of the sub series, and the suffix "C" indicates conductivity. For example, 2416 represents a sub series with a design pressure of 16 bar and is non-conductive; 2450C represents a sub series with a design pressure of 50 bar and is conductive.
All basic products of the brand Bondstrand® can meet IMO Resolution A.753 Fire Resistance L3. Its FP type sub series, such as 2000M-FP PC5, 7000M-FP FV8 and others can meet the JET FIRE fire protection requirements specified by UKOOA.
The Bondstrand® FP series is based on the three basic series of 2000M/7000M/2400, with the addition of a NOV FGS standard fireproof layer, There are two main types of NOV FGS standard fire protection layers: FP FV8 and FP PC5. FP FV8 is an 8mm thick Favuseal fireproof layer, while FP PC5 is a 5mm thick PITT CHAR fireproof layer. After implementing either type of fire protection layer to the 2000M/7000M/2400 series, it can achieve JET FIRE fire protection rating.
